Description
This comprehensive 10-week course in Drawing meets on Tuesdays, 1 – 3 p.m.
June 3 through August 1
Drawing media is known for its wonderful graphic qualities, such as stark black and whites, and ease of access and mobility, and is an exciting media. It is extremely versatile, with many different approaches to expression. Instruction is from “life,” using still life, drapery, anatomy, and architecture with perspective. We cover charcoal (compressed and vine), the graded pencil method, as well as pen and ink techniques and media. We will be covering tools, techniques, and supplies throughout, much of which Michelle Curry has gleaned over years of training and practice!
Students are responsible for bringing their own supplies. The instructor will provide a list of supplies when you register. If a student cannot bring theirs, like if their shipment is delayed, or if they forgot to bring theirs, the instructor will share materials so they can paint, but a $5 flat fee, payable to the instructor, is requested for that session.
ABOUT MICHELLE CURRY
Michelle has created works of art in various mediums, using oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, pastel, graphite, and some digital media. She has done still life, landscape, and portraiture, commissions, as well as lyrical pieces that “tell a story.” Her rich and varied life experiences create a fertile creativity from which to communicate visually. She continues to work toward mastery in whatever she is working with at the moment, both in technical skill, and in conveying the subject matter.
