What is a Junk Journal? A junk journal is a handmade book crafted from recycled, repurposed, or found materials like old book pages, maps, and paper scraps. People use them for memory keeping, art, and creative writing with no strict rules. Sometimes the purpose is just the fun of making one!!!!
Your Task before the Workshop: For one week, save a variety of papers that you would usually discard or recycle:
- a paper takeout or gift bag
- junk mail envelopes or flyers
- catalogs
- packaging – especially any Amazon packaging
- gift wrap, tags, tissue paper
- anything else that catches your eye
ABOUT MELLE BROADERICK
Elementary Art Teacher and Paper-crafter, Melle Broaderick is looking forward to working with you. By day, Melle has been an Art educator for over 20 years, and on the weekends a paper-crafter for almost as long. She began scrapbooking after her first daughter was born. After that, the rest is history. Melle feels confident that she can share with you any paper-crafting skill you might be interested in from card and tag making to mixed media canvases; from book binding to junk journals!
