The “Spoken Word” group’s first event at Chelsea Art Center was a fabulous success with six poets presenting three rounds of inspiring poetry, some works accompanied by a virtuoso violinist. An enthralled audience of about 60 people enjoyed a pleasant cultural evening immersed in literary art, musical art, and the visual art of the Ocala Art Group’s Annual Exhibit, “Magic Moments”, a theme echoed in many of the recited poems.
Thank you to Ruby Boddie, the Spoken Word poets, and violinist for an amazing performance. And thank you to all who attended and gave generously to support programs like this at Chelsea Art Center. We look forward to the next Spoken Word event on March 20, 2026 at 7 p.m. presented against the backdrop of the Spring Exhibit, “Festival of Art”, an all-media show featuring works by outstanding local artists.
