Watercolor Painting

Join us for a journey into watercolor painting! Watercolor painting has been used worldwide from Paleolithic times, to the present! We will be using transparent watercolors, known as Western traditional watercolor either in tubes or in pans. This fantastic media is easy to take with you to paint and sketch. The right materials are so important in watercolor painting, and can make the difference between a delightful experience, or a frustrating one. We will be covering tools, techniques, paper and supplies throughout. Students are expected to find subject matter to paint on their own. This is a comprehensive course good for the beginner, but also the advanced artist.

While students are strongly encouraged to bring their own materials. Michelle gives recommendations for products in the marketplace to fit different budgets.

Similarly, there are options to use Chelsea Art Center Supplies for a class fee of $5, per class time, if needed (Speak with CAC Dr. Barbara Fife for permission).
